Order name tapes

What material are the name tapes made of?

It is a high-tech polymer material, very strong and durable.

What is the difference between Iron-On and Peel-n-Stick?

They are made of the same material but have different adhesive backings.

The Iron-On tapes have a backing that softens with the heat of an iron and bonds permanently to fabric.

The Peel-n-Stick tapes have an adhesive backing; the name tape is simply peeled off a backing sheet and pressed on to the item to be labelled.

Does the Iron-On stay on?

Yes, when applied according to simple instructions, the tape bonds to the fabric and will not be removed by washing, tumble-drying or drycleaning.

How many letters can be on each tape?

We recommend a maximum of 20 letters per row. For longer names, it is preferable to have two rows - row 1 for the first name and row 2 for the family name.

Should I have a telephone number on the tape?

Telephone numbers make returning lost items easier. A mobile number is often preferred to a home number.

Can I split the pricing between two names?

No. Our production only allows for one set of printing per order. The alternative is to have a surname only or perhaps a surname with an initial either side of it like "M. Smith, G" and then cut the label at one end or use a permanent marker to cross through the initial not required.

Can I pay by cheque or money order?

Certainly. However you will need to place your order by telephone. Please call 03 9855 1337 to speak to our friendly staff.

I want labels for my child's pencils. Are your labels suitable?

Yes. They are excellent for pens and pencils. We recommend that you wrap the tape around the pencil, joining it, end to end, on itself. It is then almost impossible to remove.

I would like to use the Iron-On name tapes for my child's school blazer and jumpers. Are they suitable?

Our Iron-On name tapes are perfect for woollen garments because only a warm iron is needed. The name tapes adhere extremely well and will not be spoilt by washing or dry-cleaning.

Can I order by telephone?

Yes. You are very welcome to telephone and speak to our friendly staff who will be happy to take your order or to discuss your personal needs. Phone: 03 9855 1337.

How do I apply my name tapes?

Simple, clear instructions are provided with every order. The name tapes are attached to a backing sheet. For the Peel-n-Stick name tapes, simply peel them off the backing sheet and press them onto the item to be named. For the Iron-On name tapes, peel them from the backing sheet, place them onto a flat surface on the garment to be named and press down with a warm, dry iron for 10 seconds, 3 times. The name tape is fixed for years. It's so simple!

How quickly should I expect my order?

We usually post your name tapes within one working day of receiving an order. However, we guarantee that your name tapes will be posted to you within a maximum of 3 working days, even during our busiest seasons. Please then allow time for Australia Post to make the delivery - the same time it would take for a letter to arrive to you posted from our premises.

What is the charge for postage?

There is NO CHARGE FOR POSTAGE.

Can your name tapes be used in shoes?

Many of our customers use the Iron-On name tapes, with great success, on the underside of the tongue of sports shoes.

Do you offer any opportunities for fund-raising for schools and kindergartens through Kwik Tapes?

Yes. Please call us and we will be happy to discuss the possibilities. Many schools include our brochures with their uniform and book lists and any orders received by post or telephone will include a worthwhile commission for your institution.

Refunds and Returns

Under the Trade Practices Act 1974 you may seek a refund if goods:

  • are or become faulty through no fault of your own
  • are not fit for a stated purpose or a purpose you made known to our sales staff
  • don't match our description or sample
  • have defects that were not obvious or we did not bring to your attention.

However, the goods must be returned within a reasonable period and you may be asked for proof of purchase. You may also be asked to demonstrate that the problem with the goods was not your fault.

If you prefer an alternative to a refund, we can arrange for goods to be exchanged or repaired. A store credit may be offered at our discretion. Please choose carefully as you are not entitled to a refund if you simply change your mind. Keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
